The Division of Applied Social Sciences (DASS) in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR).

Job Description

This position provides key support within the Division of Applied Social Sciences Business Office. Duties include, but are not limited to: time and labor processes, verification of payroll, monthly chartfield reconciliations, weekly account balance review, maintaining spreadsheet and database information for various activities, serving as division post-award grant point of contact, providing data and creating Divisional reports, and review and approval of purchasing card transactions, vouchers, and requisitions. The Business Office works for the entire Division of Applied Social Sciences and this position is critical in ensuring the policies and procedures of the Division, College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resources, and the University of Missouri are upheld.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruitment programs for academic and non-academic positions.
  • Process paperwork for new hires, transfers, and terminations, maintaining accurate employee records.
  • Develop and maintain a biweekly and monthly payroll database, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Prepare and collect data for reports, memos, and meeting materials for Division Business Manager and Division Director.
  • Assist with budgeting and related transfers such as opening bookings, benefit bookings, annual allocations, and redistribution of carry forward.
  • Initiate journal entries and manage budgeting transfers, ensuring proper categorization of funding.
  • Approve expense reports, vouchers, and requisitions
  • Prepare CRR's and ACH's within the Division as needed based on requests from staff and on own knowledge of situation.
  • Serve as post-award point of contact for DASS; assisting PI's and support staff while working alongside the Sponsored Programs Administration team and as backup approver on grant PSRS
  • Reconcile accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with funding protocols as well as resolving any discrepancies in collaboration with staff and project leaders.
  • Receive and respond to a diverse range of inquiries and provide accurate and up to date information on divisional policies, procedures, funding and other topics
  • Offer guidance on navigating the organization's departments and services which includes directing individuals to appropriate contacts or resources.
Shift

Monday through Friday with an 8 hour work day. There is some flexibility on start and end times. Remote work may be an option up to a couple days a week.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $21.28 - $28.00/hour.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
