Job Description:

• The Medical Tech independently performs, interprets, validates and correlates tests as ordered by physicians by following the approved departmental procedures and in accordance with all regulatory agencies.

• The Medical Tech determines that the test results meet the requirements of the quality control program and if not met, repeats test and ensures the results are approved for reporting.

• The Medical Tech is expected to utilize complex problem-solving skills in resolving clinical and instrument problems.

• Able to complete work with little or no supervision, seeks advice when needed.

• Able to multitask with minimum errors.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or a related science field is required.

• Certified or eligible for certification in clinical laboratory science by recognized certifying agencies. Certification must be achieved within one year of hire.

• Membership in a professional organization is highly desirable but not mandatory.
