We are looking for aSenior System Administrator to join our IT department. You'll be responsible for managing our server and network infrastructures. Senior System Administrator responsibilities include supervising our Operations team, monitoring system performance and configuring new software and hardware. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience with various operating systems. Ultimately, you will ensure our software, hardware, servers and networks run smoothly.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for asset procurement and installation/configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure.
  • Configure and manage operating systems (Windows and Linux), applications (commercial and government), networks (IPs, subnets, etc.), and network equipment (switches)
  • Configure and manage DOD and IC standard distributed authentication services
  • Build up systems from "bare metal" in alignment with accredited baselines
  • Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems and related procedures adhere to company and government policies.
  • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
  • Perform daily backup operations.
  • Perform regular file archival and purge, as necessary.
  • Create, change and delete user accounts per request.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades and resource optimization, as required.
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures for multiple sites.
  • Maintain Video Wall System and displays.


Requirements
Necessary Skills and Experience

  • Must have an active U.S. government Top Secret security clearance and be SCI eligible. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain security clearances.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum 7years of experience in system administration, system engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with Linux/Unix system administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting


Beneficial Skills and Experience

  • Experience with simple scriptssuch as, Powershell or Bash
  • Experience with software development Information Technology infrastructure tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef), setup and management
  • Experience administering server-side technology such as: PHP, Ruby on Rails, or ASP.NET
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols and security technologies
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Joint IO Range, Defense Research and Engineering Network, and other similar environments
  • Security+, GSLC, GSEC, or other DoD approved 8570 Baseline Certification in the Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I or Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II categories
  • Experience with open-source platforms such as, Kubernetes, Red Hat 7&8 and/or Windows 10, ACAS, Rancher, Grafana and Cloud Security Gateway
  • Knowledge ofnetworkinfrastructures in a DOD environment in Hawaii
