Description
Responsible for performing technical duties in the areas of surveying and mapping in support of supervisors, land surveyors, project engineers, and Geographic Information System (GIS) personnel. Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS |
Survey Technician I ($25.91 - $32.38/hr.)
- Must possess a working knowledge of land surveying/mapping at a level normally acquired through the completion of a two-year degree in surveying, civil technology or geomatics or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- AutoCad, Public Land Survey System (PLSS) and/or Global Positioning System (GPS) education or experience.
Survey Technician II ($29.00 - $36.25/hr.)
- Must possess a working knowledge of land surveying/mapping at a level normally acquired through the completion of a two-year degree in surveying, civil technology or geomatics or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Three years related technical experience.
- AutoCad, Public Land Survey System (PLSS) and/or Global Positioning System (GPS) education or experience.
Survey Technician III ($33.36 - $41.70/hr.)
- Must possess a working knowledge of land surveying/mapping at a level normally acquired through the completion of a two-year degree in surveying, civil technology or geomatics or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Five years related technical experience.
- AutoCad, Public Land Survey System (PLSS) and/or Global Positioning System (GPS) education or experience.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS |
- Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage, or unauthorized access.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
- Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
- Requires extensive travel (50% +).
- Required to maintain a valid driver's license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS |
Survey Technician I/II:
- Associate degree in surveying, civil technology, or geomatics.
- Pipeline/route surveying experience.
Survey Technician III:
- Bachelor's degree in surveying, civil technology, or geomatics.
- Pipelinge/route surveying experience.
- Land Survey Intern (LSI) certification in Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wyoming.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Assists supervisors, land surveyors, project managers, engineers, and GIS personnel with surveys and mapping of routes for new pipeline construction, pipeline relocations and replacements, as builts, topo, well locations, and tracts of land for WBI Energy Transmission and other business unites as requested.
- Prepares exhibits, construction maps, and pipeline design drawings.
- Writes centerline descriptions and legal descriptions for pipelines, access, tracts, and other miscellaneous facilities.
- Maintains maps, drawings, and records to assure accurate representation of company facilities.
- Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
