Position description

UCSF School of Medicine and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals

Division of Neonatology, Department of Pediatrics

HS Clinical, Clinical X, Adjunct, and In Residence Faculty Series

The Division of Neonatology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals are recruiting faculty positions at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor ranks of the Adjunct, Clinical X, Health Sciences (HS) Clinical, or In Residence faculty series. Academic rank is commensurate with experience.

Selected candidates will join a major academic medical center and established fellowship training program. Clinical responsibilities for this position may include duties at various UCSF locations in San Francisco and Oakland, among other UCSF-affiliated sites. Successful candidates will actively contribute to the Department's mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Medical degree and license
  • Board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics
  • Board certification or eligibility in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine


Preferred Qualifications



  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Demonstrated experience working independently in neonatal ICU settings
  • Proven abilities in collaborative teamwork
  • A strong interest in pursuing a career in academic pediatrics
  • Experience in supervising residents and medical students in clinical settings

For positions that are 51% effort or more:

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $110,500-$333,700. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

For positions that are 50% effort or less:

See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $78,900-$238,300.
