Description
What You Will Do


  • Responsible for the management of the incoming and outgoing of OR non-stock supplies/equipment/loaners. This includes, but is not limited to, checking in non-stock items for surgery, validating pricing, reconciling items used on cases with invoicing, coordinating non-stock returns.
  • Monitor the entry and exit of loaner items and instrument trays
  • Support implant tracking and identification of patient specific and no charge samples for charge purposes.
  • Enters PO requisitions into Oracle for patient specific items brought/sent in by vendors.
  • Works in conjunction with Supply Chain and inventory practices.
  • Provide supply and service cost control support, input and advice.
  • Will work with staff keeping supply areas neat and orderly in order to permit the accurate counting of supplies and the identification and removal of outdated supplies.
  • Implement audits to review and improve non-stock processes.
  • Maintains communication with OR service line leads in order to ensure timely and accurate information flow regarding non-stock problems and concerns. Interfaces with Supply Chain staff consistently.
  • Maintain Departmental Communication regarding new product, electronic medical records charges and variances from normal charging and expense practices.
  • Monitor monthly Oracle transactions.

  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
