Overview:

The Systems and Data Engineer is crucial in administrating and developing HGA's SQL server environment, with a primary focus on our ERP ecosystem including the application itself as well as custom integrations built on top of it. This role combines deep technical expertise with a strategic perspective, ensuring that our database infrastructure supports the firm's comprehensive technology and business objectives.



In this role you will:

    Database and ERP System Management: Oversee the administration of the ERP ecosystem, Deltek Vantagepoint, and maintain a robust SQL server environment to support enterprise-wide operations.
  • Infrastructure Development: Design and implement strategies for the modernization of technological infrastructure, balancing key factors such as performance, reliability, cost, and scalability.
  • Disaster Recovery and Security: Develop and manage comprehensive disaster recovery plans and IT security policies to protect firm assets and ensure business continuity.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and track key performance metrics to monitor and report on infrastructure health and system performance.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams and business stakeholders to align infrastructure developments with firm-wide needs and initiatives.
  • Vendor Management: Negotiate and manage relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure service quality and cost-efficiency.
  • Software Development: Establish software development practices for backend databases including version controlling and code deployment. Development and maintenance of simple data-intensive .NET and/or web applications.


You will need to have:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a closely related field.
  • Experience:
    • At least 5 years in infrastructure operations within a corporate setting.
    • Proven track record in managing ERP systems and/or complex SQL server environments.
  • Skills:
    • Expertise in Windows Server environments.
    • MUST have working knowledge of SQL objects, data modelling, version controlling with git, and at least one other programming language. Preference for .NET or Python experience.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Experience with cloud operations, preferably in Microsoft Azure/o365 and Power BI/Microsoft Fabric.


Salary Information:

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $97,500 - $138,500
