Corporate Commodity Analyst

Summary:
Performs global commodity data analysis and provides actionable insights to maximize opportunities and mitigate supply chain risk within the corporate Supply Chain organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze market and price trends for various commodities, including conducting internal and external research on global market and raw material pricing dynamics
  • Monitor regulatory changes, industry developments, and international trade conditions impacting various commodities
  • Proactively identify opportunities to optimize cost position for assigned commodity categories
  • Analyze complex data and prepare summary reports, spreadsheets and charts based on analysis of data from multiple sources
  • Prepare and analyze metrics to identify departmental and supplier performance trends
  • Audit data, challenge and resolve data integrity issues and present findings to responsible manager
  • Assist in process standardization and provide process/communication improvement recommendations relative to metric tracking activities
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to drive data clean-up efforts
  • Engage with suppliers to reconcile data and or metrics related discrepancies
  • Monitor regulatory changes, industry developments, and international trade conditions impacting various commodities
  • Proficiency in extracting, analyzing and summarizing data. Capable navigating through software applications including ERP systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Other information:

* 5+ years of supply chain, materials, procurement and/or commodity management experience is preferred
* Financial analysis and capture engagement experience a plus
* High proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables), Power BI, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Word
* Capable navigating through software applications including ERP systems (Infor LN and Baan, Kinaxis)
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
* Self-motivated and works well under pressure to meet deadlines
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Highly proficient verbal and written communication skills
* Strong, accurate, analytical, problem solving and statistical skills
* Sharp attention to detail
* Proficiency in extracting, analyzing and summarizing data
* Demonstrates high confidentiality

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or related field
