Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Athletic Trainer.

In this role, the successful candidate The applicant will assist the physician in providing quality comprehensive care to patients by obtaining patient histories performing initial evaluations demonstrating and instructing correct form on rehab exercises providing patient education utilizing taping techniques and manual therapy within the context of a doctor s visit based on the patient s pathology helping with administrative tasks such as keeping accurate notes for patient encounters replying to patient messages via EMR and responding to phone messages as appropriate

Job Responsibilities:

General Patient Care:

    • Takes initial histories and records in the patient #39;s chart
    • Prepares nbsp;procedure trays and readies the room for all procedures
    • Ensures patient has completed all assigned questionnaires
    • Coordinates and oversees follow up process to maintain continuity nbsp;of care
    • At the direction of the physician gives instruction on home exercise rehabilitation program nbsp;
    • Utilizes experience with taping joint mobilizations and other manual therapy techniques as instructed nbsp;by the physician
    • Acts as a liaison between physician nursing and office staff to promote effective and efficient patient care
    • Remove slings splints and braces as directed by physician nbsp;
    • Assists with external sports medicine team coverage and care when appropriate

Administrative:

    • Acts as a scribe to physician and completes encounter forms nbsp;
    • When not in clinic with the physician helps with administrative tasks including assisting with ongoing research projects including but not limited to entering and analyzing nbsp;data writing manuscripts
    • Prepares chart and places X ray orders according to protocol discussed with the physician
    • Communicates physician referral requests to staff for timely appointments
    • Triages incoming in basket messages and nbsp;telephone calls
    • Ensures that pertinent laboratory and radiology results are reviewed by the physician and communicated to patient nbsp;
    • Fills out necessary forms e g FMLA forms nbsp;disability forms workman rsquo;s comp handicap parking as needed nbsp;
    • Assists with patient correspondence as needed i e letters of medical necessity school notes insurance inquiries etc nbsp;

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor s degree or equivalent in sports medicine or related field Three years of related experience Strong background in creating and implementing rehab programs for patients/athletes NY State ATC License Certification through NATABOC All current licensure maintained CPR/BLS certified.

Required Licenses: Athletic Trainer

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working in orthopedic practice preferred

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $51,243.96 - $80,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
