Overview

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is responsible for effective planning and scheduling of all planned maintenance activities; Optimizes the planned/preventative maintenance function; Plans repairs and preventative work for maximum productivity; Effectively coordinates projects with plant production and support personnel, monitoring quality of completed work requests; Assists in communication with suppliers, maintenance, and manufacturing teams; Assures safe work practices are followed in all areas of the facility, and actively enforces all company safety and operating policies



Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Develop and maintain detailed maintenance plans and schedules based on preventive maintenance programs, equipment reliability strategies, and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to prioritize and schedule maintenance activities, including corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenance.
  • Allocate resources such as labor, materials, and equipment necessary to execute maintenance plans effectively and efficiently.
  • Monitor work order backlog and prioritize tasks to optimize workflow and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance activities.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to record maintenance activities, track equipment history, and generate reports.
  • Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, evaluate performance metrics, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with procurement and inventory management to ensure availability of spare parts and materials required for maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance teams to resolve complex issues and improve maintenance practices.
  • Participate in regular meetings and communicate with stakeholders to provide updates on maintenance schedules, progress, and challenges.
  • Assures that safe work practices and company policies are adhered to at all times
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Engineering & Maintenance Manager or Plant Manager


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Planner Scheduler or similar role in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance planning principles, techniques, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in using CMMS software (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo, Oracle EAM) for maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations and procedures related to maintenance operations.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Degree or certification in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • [Optional] Additional certifications such as Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Maintenance Planner (CMP) are advantageous.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Education/Certification Requirements
    • High school diploma (GED)
    • Two-year applicable degree, military training, or equivalent work/training experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a successful individual maintenance contributor

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Standing, walking, stooping, and kneeling 100% of the time
  • Must have normal color vision
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a fast-paced work environment with consistent pressure to complete duties as outlined above which requires ability to manage multiple projects at a detailed level and provide support to many internal departments in a fast-changing environment. Many duties listed above are time-sensitive and have strict deadlines for completion.

  • Performs jobs under varying conditions (dust, oil, grease, hot and humid temperatures, fumes, noise, etc.)
  • Wears proper PPE in the manufacturing area (shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection)
