General Overview:

We are seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join our Surgery SPD and Supply team. The Sterile Processing Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment. This position involves a variety of responsibilities, including receiving, decontamination, re-sterilization, and maintaining essential inventory.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Sterile Processing Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• * Receiving, disassembling, inspecting, and preparing equipment and instruments for cleaning and processing.
• * Cleaning, sterilizing, and assembling materials, wrapping kits, and operating sterilizers.
• * Maintaining detailed documentation logs of reprocessed instruments and equipment.
• * Cleaning and maintaining used articles returned from patient areas.
• * Assisting with inventory management and reordering of supplies.
• * Preparing preference cards and picking supplies and instrumentation for surgical cases.
• * Collaborating with OR staff to ensure equipment/instrumentation readiness.

Working Conditions:

This role involves working around mechanical equipment in noisy, humid conditions and handling contaminated equipment. Safety precautions are essential to minimize potential risks.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Required: At least one (1) year direct experience performing all Sterile Processing functions within an operative setting.
• Required: Certificate: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
• Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs., stoop, bend, pull, and place/retrieve materials.
