Job Summary Our Mechanics ensure that all equipment and vehicles are ready and working as needed through proper completion of repairs and maintenance. You'll accomplish this by communicating and coordinating major repairs and maintenance with Managers, as well as listening to specialists and reading Vehicle Inspection Reports and prioritizing your work. You'll be responsible for ordering and receiving parts and supplies, as well as the proper completion of paperwork for the office and vendors. Whenever possible, you'll train field specialists on equipment maintenance and vehicle operations. You'll do it all while maintaining a safe and orderly work environment in the Shop and in the Yard. Our Mechanics ensure that all equipment and vehicles are ready and working as needed through proper completion of repairs and maintenance. You'll accomplish this by communicating and coordinating major repairs and maintenance with Managers, as well as listening to specialists and reading Vehicle Inspection Reports and prioritizing your work. You'll be responsible for ordering and receiving parts and supplies, as well as the proper completion of paperwork for the office and vendors. Whenever possible, you'll train field specialists on equipment maintenance and vehicle operations. You'll do it all while maintaining a safe and orderly work environment in the Shop and in the Yard.
*What a day is like:*
* *Assisting Senior Mechanic: *shadowing experienced mechanics, assisting them with tasks, and learning from their expertise. This includes observing and participating in vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
* *Routine Maintenance:* perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks under the supervision of experienced mechanics.
* *Diagnosis and Repair:* assist with diagnosing vehicle issues by using diagnostic tools, conducting visual inspections, and listening to customer descriptions of problems. They then learn to perform repairs, which may include replacing parts, repairing systems, or performing adjustments.
* *Learning Technical Skills:* will receive training on using various tools and equipment such as wrenches, sockets, jacks, diagnostic scanners, and lifts. They also learn about vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and suspension.
* *Following Safety Protocols*: will learn about safety procedures and protocols, including handling hazardous materials, using personal protective equipment (PPE), and following proper lifting techniques.
* *Documentation:* responsible for documenting their work, including recording services performed, parts used, and any additional recommendations for repairs or maintenance.
* *Continued Learning and Certification:* required to attend training sessions, workshops, or pursue certifications to further develop their skills and knowledge in automotive repair.
*What kind of person are we looking for? Someone with:*
* A desire for job stability, security, and quality work. Our fleet will always have the need to be maintained by mechanics who desire and take pride in caring for their own fleet and equipment.
* A desire to learn about small engine repair, diesel engine repair and maintenance.
* Ability to read and comprehend instruction manuals and diagnostic charts for purpose of learning and troubleshooting and analyze repair of a mechanical or electrical nature
* Valid Driver's license required,
* Desire to obtain CDL preferred.
* Desire to achieve ASE certification.
* Must be authorized to lawfully work in the U.S.
