General Summary of Position

We are actively recruiting for a Manager Clinical Translational Data to join our onsite team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. Develops and monitors clinical and translational research protocols for the Department of Radiation Medicine. Oversees clinical data collection and human specimen collection and processing. The employee is responsible for the preliminary analysis and presentation of clinical and translational data.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development of approved protocols for translation/clinical studies; must be able to develop and perform quality assurance on biological assays for translational research protocols.
  • Oversees the recruitment of appropriate patients to clinical and translational research protocols. Ensures that eligibility requirements and all pre-study laboratory/medical tests are completed.
  • Conducts concurrent chart review of selected patient populations and assesses the appropriateness of the research-related care, diagnostic testing, and research procedures, under the supervision of a physician. Advises faculty of research data needs and completeness of research documentation, as appropriate.
  • Produces case documentation in approved manual or electronic format while maintaining required standards and protocols. Independently collects, prepares, organizes, and enters data in case report forms and databases as appropriate. Collaborates with staff within the department as well as throughout the hospital to obtain data and implement operational standards. Ensures confidentiality of data for investigational activities. Abstracts and analyses data under the direction of Principal Investigator(s) for academic publication. Coordinates manuscript and grant preparation.
  • Prepares all regulatory documents in compliance with protocols, IRB submissions, and informed consent. Reports and forwards all amendments, adverse events to IRB and sponsor.
  • Supervises the activities of clinical associates for specific research projects to which assigned by the department chair.


  • Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • Master's degree in Bio-Chemistry with advanced basic research training required
    • Doctoral degree preferred
    • CONSIDERATION WILL BE GIVEN TO AN APPROPRIATE COMBINATION OF EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

    Experience

    • 5-7 years research experience in radiation cancer biology and molecular therapeutic targets required
    • Experience with the process for obtaining research funding is highly preferred

    Licenses and Certifications

    • No special certification, registration or licensure required

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Familiarity with clinical and translational research protocols is required.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with healthcare professionals in multiple healthcare clinics, divisions, and sites to foster research activities.
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
    • Incumbents will need to work closely with doctors and patients.
    • Attention to detail is critical.
    • Must be self-directed and able to work independently.

    This position has a hiring range of $80,995 - $152,027
