Job Summary

The Clinical Assistant is a member of the staff who coordinates aspects of patient care by managing communication and clerical tasks essential to the functioning of the department. In addition to communication and clerical tasks, she/he monitors and stocks supplies. The Clinical Assistant also provides patient care and related functions as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse or designee.

Essential Functions
  • Provide patient care assignments as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse or designee.

  • Clerical/manages supplies/equipment in designated care areas.

  • Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy. Documents in electronic medical record.

  • Acts as a receptionist and organizes daily work assignment based on unit priorities.

  • Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 180 Days Or

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 180 days

Preferred

  • Completion of nursing assistant program and/or one year of nursing assistant experience.

  • CRT-Nursing Assistant - LARA-BCHS Michigan Department of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs Upon Hire
