The Nevada Automotive Test Center (NATC) is currently seeking talented candidates for a Computer Technician II at our Silver Springs, NV location. At NATC, our Computer Technicians support a team of engineers' intent on designing, manufacturing, and testing innovative automotive mobility solutions.

Founded in 1957, the Nevada Automotive Test Center (NATC) is a privately owned, independent test, evaluation, design and engineering facility offering development and testing to customers worldwide. We have substantial international experience, which allows us to evaluate products intended for global markets knowledgeably and objectively. NATC has compiled an extensive database of worldwide operational and infrastructure conditions allowing accurate definition of user duty cycles and creation of test programs that are representative of service environments around the world. NATC is a leading innovator in translating real-world conditions into validated virtual proving ground simulation and virtual prototyping.

NATC's location in the great basin of Nevada allows our team to access terrain that can represent 85% of the world within a 150 mile radius, providing an excellent test bed for off-road mobility. NATC's operational area includes 1200 sq. miles of natural terrain, that when coupled with 6,200 acres of privately owned test courses, create an unparalleled testing area available to our engineers to innovate and solve our customer's problems.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position preforms scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on all server systems and network equipment. This includes hardware, firmware and software installation and replacement. This position is responsible and will take the lead for tasks assigned to the Computer Technicians of the IT department, will also work in conjunction with other department personnel to meet contractual requirements and is a direct report the IT Manger.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  1. Provide support of incoming requests to the service desk via telephone, web portal, and email to ensure courteous, timely, and effective resolution of end-user issues.
  2. Administer company computing resources by directing the configuration, troubleshooting, and monitoring of the functioning of workstations, laptops and server systems, and ensure that pre-emptive maintenance is conducted to help mitigate issues that may arise to address crucial business needs of an organization.
  3. Install servers, server operating systems and relevant server programs.
  4. Lead multiple desktop installations and migrations for end-users in all locations.
  5. Monitor and maintain network security and policies.
  6. Monitor server backups to ensure that these take place regularly and correctly.
  7. Monitor workstation backups and antivirus updates.
  8. Register personal devices for use of the production network that include android, IOS devices.
  9. Monitor and test networks to ensure that they are running optimally.
  10. Assists with establish best practices and streamline processes by creating and implementing security procedures and documentations.
  11. Document records of problems and the corrective measured used for resolution.
  12. Supports servers and networking equipment and works under the direction of the IT Manager and other department personnel to adhere with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification and NIST Protection of Controlled Unclassified Information in Nonfederal Systems requirements.
  13. Provide staff with technical support and training.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

  1. Assists in special projects.



Pay:

$52,000-$62,400



Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. AS degree in computer science or equivalent or;
  2. A+ and Network+ Certification or equivalent experience and five (5) years Microsoft networking.
  3. Five (5) years' experience in computer repair upgrades of hardware and installation of software.
  4. Able to work in excess of 40 hours per week with varied work shifts.
  5. Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  6. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, expressing ideas clearly and actively listening to thoughts and ideas of others.
  7. Must be professional and personable and able to relate well with employees at all levels.
  8. Must have excellent organization and time management skills.
  9. Must be flexible and able to handle multiple priorities, with the ability to adjust to high pressure and rapidly changing business conditions.
  10. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  11. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
  12. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  13. Ability to observe proper safety precautions.
  14. Ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and the public.
  15. Must possess a current Nevada Driver's License and clean driving record for the past three (3) years.
