Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse assists nurses and surgeons with the intraoperative care of the surgical patient.

Responsibilities
- Provide intraoperative assistance to the surgeon, including tissue retraction, suctioning, cauterization, and suturing, while maintaining a sterile field and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.
- Support surgical room preparation by gathering necessary supplies, assisting with patient care, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Uphold professional standards through continuous learning, adherence to regulatory guidelines (HIPAA, OSHA, etc.), and maintaining required certifications with reliable attendance
Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology and surgical assisting.
- Must maintain CEUS as defined by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years perioperative patient Care
License(s)/Certification(s):
- CPR certification required.
- Certified Surgical Technologist-First Assist
- Certification required through an accredited program.
