Your Role With Us:The Medical Staff Services Manager is responsible for the leadership, coordination and oversight of the Medical Staff Office including credentialing, privileging, performance improvement and compliance. This role manages the adherence to medical staff organization governing structures and documents, as well as adherence to accrediting body and state/federal regulatory requirements.Core Functions:Maintains compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations and accrediting body standards and administrative requirements relative to departmental operations and accreditation. This includes but is not limited to governance, accrediting, and privileging. Complies with policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of credentialing and privileging and compliance with the Medical Staff bylaws and supporting documents. Manages the credentialing and privileging process of all Medical Staff members and credentialed providers through the Medical Staff Office. This includes but is not limited to initial appointment, reappointment, orientation of medical staff, monitoring and compliance. Manages on-site surveys, announced and unannounced, by Joint Commission, CMS and those bodies where we are delegated credentialers in respects to all credentialing, privileging and medical staff governance topics. Responsible for the department's unit A3 and all Kaizen/Lean requirements and executes projects assigned by the Medical Staff Services Director. Determines and/or manages business priorities. Participates in the recruitment, interviewing, selection, training, and evaluation of hospital staff. Provides leadership and supervision to the credentialing team. Manages the department's operating budget. Approves or monitors expenditures, purchases and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines. Experience:Minimum of three (3) years experience working in Medical Staff Services (credentialing, privileging, medical staff governance) required. Three (3) years of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience required. Demonstrated proficiency in project management specific to physician engagement and administration. Preference will be given to those with credentialing, privileging and medical staff governance experience. Must be able to demonstrate expertise of credentialing, privileging and medical staff governance within the first year. Special knowledge, skills, & abilities: Ability to coach and manage hospital staff carrying out accreditation requirements.
