The role of the Building 2019 Weld Support Technician is to provide support to the production group by setting up, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining preheat, induction preheat, temporary utility equipment, and welding equipment including items such as strip heaters, temporary distribution panels, heater timer boxes, power supplies, stud guns, ventilation blowers and hoses as well as lighting cords and cables.

• Weld Support Technician are also responsible for monitoring induction preheat machines daily, performing Preventive maintenance on all welding machines, and supporting the safe environment by keeping up with line control and removing of out of date equipment
• Candidates must possess basic mechanical knowledge to be able to effectively support mechanical repairs when the need should arise
• Qualified candidates must be mechanically inclined and have a working knowledge of electricity and of working safely with it

This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.

Required:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 1+ year of experience in electrical and/or mechanical maintenance or other directly related experience
• Must be available to work all shifts
• Candidates must be willing to work overtime as needed
• Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools
• Must be able to pick up and carry 50LBS
• Able to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the department of defense

Preferred:

• 3+ years with Electrical and Mechanical diagnostic and repair experience
• additional preference given for Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice Programs
• Familiarity with ATICTS, MRP II, SPARS, AT&A Timekeeping is desired
• Journeyman electrical, pipefitting or plumbing
