Position Summary

The Bilingual Family Support Coach (BFSC) plays a crucial role in Family Expectations Spanish, a healthy relationship and parenting program for low-income, Spanish-speaking pregnant couples, by guiding couples through their program journey with comprehensive support, coaching, workshop facilitation, and resource connection. This role is a combination of the Workshop Educator and Family Support Coach; the BFSC will provide guidance and case management, as well as facilitate learning through curriculum-based workshops and educational activities.

The BFSC is responsible for initial assessments, structured case management, curriculum reinforcement, promoting employment and financial stability, and supporting two-parent family stability and delivering educational sessions to enhance couples' skills and knowledge.

Essential Job Functions

  • Identifies and addresses barriers to participation, actively promotes and encourages workshop attendance, and builds strong relationships with couples through multiple communication channels (i.e., phone, text, email), coaching sessions, and onsite interactions.
  • Provides structured case management during onsite office visits; uses Motivational Interviewing and other approved techniques to support couples, ensuring they effectively apply the communication skills and concepts (focusing on healthy relationships, self-sufficiency, and parenthood) learned during workshops.
  • Provides referrals and support for job readiness training, and facilitates discussions on budgeting, saving, and debt management.
  • Ensures accurate case notes and data entry in the Data Management System (DMS) while adhering to established protocols. Additionally, it complies with program policies and procedures, maintaining a high level of professionalism and organization.
  • Provides individualized and group assistance, ensuring participants are competent in the skills taught through curriculum reinforcement and follow-ups.
  • Serves as a program representative at community events (monthly) and engages with potential participants and partners during in-service opportunities, promoting FE's mission and strengthening community relationships.
  • Meets programmatic goals and benchmarks, tracking progress and offering timely support to participants.
  • Facilitate educational workshops and group sessions focused on relationship building, parenting, and financial stability, ensuring content is delivered in an engaging manner.
  • Actively participates in job-related training and professional development activities, showing a strong commitment to learning and growth; demonstrates competency and integrates new skills and knowledge into their work.
