Business Operations & Strategic Initiatives Administration Job Description
This Business Development Specialist - Campus Food Services position exists to lead and execute strategic initiatives in food services for the University of Missouri by analyzing customer demographics and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. This includes developing new business concepts and locations, identifying new vendors to work with, working with Procurement on Requests for Proposals (RFP's) and with Real Estate on lease agreements. Additionally, this position will analyze operations and suggest enhancements. Key Responsibilities Will Include the Following: Guide team in the development and implementation of a campus-wide food services strategic plan to serve students, faculty, staff and guests, including short- and long-range strategies, goals, and objectives, staffing plans and fiscal planning for catering, convenience stores, and retail/residential dining operations. Identify needs or preferences by analyzing customer demographics and develop customer-specific solutions for those needs. Research, identify, and qualify new business opportunities and ensure they support the university mission and goals. Create and deliver business plans and presentations for university leadership. Develop & maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including students, faculty, staff and vendors to ensure availability of food options throughout campus. Engage internal stakeholders with projects and monitor project progress, set deadlines, and lead the project to completion. Drive the design of improvements to optimize financial performance and operational productivity using data-driven and data-informed decision making. Recommend methods, resources, and implementation for customer service improvement and growth based on an understanding of operational needs, capabilities, and obligations to campus customers. Assist in the planning for business continuity during emergency or special situations. Lead teams in selecting potential locations for vendor partnerships and collaborate with procurement in the development of Request for Proposals. A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Preferred Qualifications
Experience with self-op dining operations and with one of the contract food service management companies. Anticipated Hiring Range
