While we prefer a technical background, it is not an absolute requirement - students who are dependable, task-oriented, and engaged in the technologies we work with are encouraged to apply and will find opportunities to develop technical and professional skills. UNM Law comprises academic operations, and large law firm support, as well as various legal centers that support the State of New Mexico, so the experience our students gain is much more than technical. Law's student employees have unique opportunities to assist our faculty, students and staff with common Microsoft Windows tasks including mapping file shares, installing networked printers, and PC troubleshooting. Other responsibilities include resolving hardware and software issues on computers, scanners, printers and mobile devices. Our student employees work closely with Law's IT staff and are responsible for deploying new computers and peripherals as needed. Upon graduation, our student employees, all with various undergraduate or graduate degrees, have found full time IT positions around Albuquerque, New Mexico, and the US - with the national labs, technical firms, federal courts, and law firms, among others. We're looking for students who can commit to UNM Law IT for the long-term, and in return we will offer opportunity to develop new skills and advance within UNM's Student Employment promotion ladder. UNM Law's hours are Monday to Friday 8 AM - 5PM. We prefer that all of our students work 15-28 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters (excluding approved time off of course). We understand that some terms are busier than others and will adjust with your class schedule. Must be able to lift moderately heavy objects such as workstations and printers and have the ability to work under desks and around obstacles as required. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary. Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications
