Description

Function:

Plan and perform a variety of duties to order, ship, receive, store, issue, and transport parts, tools, equipment, and material to support operations utilizing available part tracking, and material inventory systems. Operate equipment and vehicles to perform a variety of material movement functions, which may include interstate transportation of products and materials. Operate heavy-duty equipment to move and position tooling, material, and parts as required.



  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to pass a medical evaluation to operate any Company commercial motor vehicle(s).
  • May be required to obtain special motor vehicle licensing to operate any Company commercial motor vehicle(s).
  • May be required to train for, obtain, and maintain license, operator permits, and certification within the assigned area.
  • Must have a clean driving record, as outlined in the "PCX Driving Policy and Procedures for Company Commercial Motor Vehicles," and must strictly adhere to all policy requirements.
  • Required to adhere to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations that apply to the Company's commercial motor vehicle(s).
  • May be required to operate a variety of material handling equipment for assigned area.
  • Follow established methods and procedures to perform all aspects of materials processing.
  • Receive, store, and issue parts, materials, and supplies, which may involve utilization of automated systems, and applicable computer programs to enter, retrieve, and store information.
  • Recognize errors, make adjustments or notify appropriate authority.
  • Perform routine servicing throughout assigned area following specified procedures and written instructions such as operators check list and to assure equipment operates properly.
  • Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspection following standardized format noting any damage or irregularities to vehicle and reporting information to supervision for disposition.
  • Select best methods to load, unload, separate, and secure materials to be transported, delivered or setup using available equipment following guidelines and specific government regulations.
  • Make sure all government regulations pertaining to hazardous materials movement are followed.
  • Work on special projects within scope and skill level of this job in support of materials processing activity.
  • Refer difficulties to leader or supervisor as appropriate.
  • Actively participate in various aspects of Continuous Improvement projects which may include but is not limited to 5S, TPM, kaizen events, and set-up reduction events, which is aligned with the commitment to continuous improvement activities in Article II of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Must work safely at all times. Participate in safety improvement initiatives by raising any safety concerns and helping to come up with corrective actions.
  • May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department or cell objectives and to develop individuals' skills.
