FINANCIAL ANALYST

MONTGOMERY, AL

As a member of the Finance team, the Financial Analyst will be responsible forreporting and forecasting in the organization.

Incumbents in this classification ensures adherence to a well-controlled environment with a detailed-oriented perspective, assists in plant operational financial planning and forecasts, participates in semi-annual and/or annual physical inventory, and analyze all components of price. Incumbents also works with the Sales Manager to ensure proactive price alignment after customer negotiations.

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:



  • Bi-weekly meetings with sales manager to review pricing bump charts and complete price change reconciliation
  • Working with others at various levels of the organization to include Operations and Commercial
  • Proactive sales price monitoring in customer portal and versus actual sales price with variance explanations
  • Updating and tracking outside services labor approved budget versus actual hours worked
  • Mitigating price discrepancies, aged account receivables, and "material" bad debt reserve
  • Analyzing customer payment versus billing discrepancies including retroactive adjustments
  • Performing month-end close responsibilities
  • Sarbanes Oxley quarterly testing
  • Completing various ad hoc requests for Division and plant personnel

Your Qualifications:



  • BS or BBA degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Must have at least 5 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:



  • Knowledge of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as they apply to financial reporting
  • Knowledge of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) rules and regulations as they apply to financial reporting and procedures
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and municipal laws and statutes as they apply to financial reporting
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing and/or Automotive environments
  • Knowledge of SOX requirements as needed to ensure compliance
  • Excellent Verbal and written Communication skills
  • Excellent Attention to Detail Skills
  • Excellent Organizational skills
  • Proficient Skills in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial and accounting records as needed to make reporting decisions
  • Ability to prepare accurate and complete financial reports
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to adapt and perform in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision


PHYSICAL ABILITIES:



  • Physical Ability to make fast, simple repetitive movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists
  • Physical Ability to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard
  • Physical Ability to sit for extendedperiods of time
  • Physical Ability to see, hear, and speak as needed to recognize and investigate discrepancies
  • Physical Ability to concentrate on a given tasks and not be distracted



SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Must be willing to work on weekends and/or holidays as needed
