AWS Data Engineer

Description:

Our client, a leader in their industry, has an excellent opportunity for an AWS Data Engineer to work on a 36-month contract position in Charlotte, NC.

Rate: $65 - $85 / hr. w2

* Provide technical direction and leadership for AWS-based data engineering projects.

* Lead and provide hands-on design, development, testing, and deployment of data pipelines and data warehousing solutions on AWS.

* Collaborate with architects and product owners to deliver high-quality technical solutions.

* Develop and refine data pipelines with a focus on long-term reliability and data quality.

* Manage production issues and ensure the smooth operation of AWS data environments.

* 5+ years of experience with as many of the following AWS services as possible (we don't expect candidates to have all of these): S3, EMR, Lake Formation, Redshift, Glue Jobs, DynamoDB, Lambda, Aurora, Athena, CloudTrail, SNS, SQS, and CloudWatch, Step functions, Quicksight, Secrets Manager, IAM, API Gateway, Kinesis, Opensearch

* Strong experience with Kafka (preferably Confluent Kafka) and databases such as Redshift, DynamoDB, and Aurora.

* Proficiency with Python, Spark, PySpark, Pandas, Rest APIs and API Gateway.

* Expertise in AWS data warehousing tools and infrastructure as code technologies like Terraform/CloudFormation.

* Experience with event-driven architectures and CI/CD pipelines.

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
