Northside is recruiting for a CPA (or CPA Track) to join our Accounting team as a Coordinator, Compliance & Financial Reporting. You will play a critical role in supporting the financial reporting function, with a particular focus on regulatory filings, tax compliance, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Preparation & Compliance: Prepare and file various tax returns, including Forms 990, 1120, 1065, etc. Liaise with external tax preparers and provide necessary information and analysis. Ensure timely payment of estimated taxes.
  • Single Audit Support: Serve as the primary financial contact for Single Audits conducted in accordance with the Uniform Guidance. Maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant regulations and compile supporting documentation for audits. Prepare and submit the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA) as required.
  • Payroll Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all payroll tax reporting and withholding obligations. Reconcile accounting reports with payroll tax filings and data provided by HR/Benefits.
  • Employee Benefit Plan Audits: Manage year-end payroll summaries and filings. Facilitate and support benefit plan audits.
  • Research Study Accounting: Assist the Research Finance Team with financial transactions related to research studies. Prepare financial reports and ensure accurate cost capture for grants and research projects.
  • Northside Foundations & Authorities: Prepare or review journal entries, financial statements, and tax schedules for Foundations and Authorities.
  • Hospital Financial Surveys: Prepare and file the annual Hospital Financial Surveys as required by the Georgia Department of Community Health.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Assist with other reporting and compliance projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
  • CPA licensure required or expected within 2 years of hire.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience in accounting, with a strong preference for experience with Single Audit filings.
  • Proven experience in customer service, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with colleagues, leadership, and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
  • Experience with healthcare or non-profit accounting is highly preferred.

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
  • CPA license (or ability to obtain in first 12 mos of empplyment).
  • Minimum of three years of relevant work experience with accounting, with a preference for experience in public accounting.
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to work effectively with leadership at all levels - capability of facilitating effective communication with NSH physicians, staff and management.
  • Strong oral and written communication and quality control skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Extensive experience using Excel spreadsheets, databases, and/or interaction with various accounting systems.

PREFERRED

  • Experience in a healthcare or community hospital setting strongly preferred.
