The estimated base salary range for this role is 55,000 - 60,000 per year.

As the CAD Specialist you will work on our ProjectWorks team based at our headquarters in Lancaster, PA, you will be accountable for performing design initial project reviews and for providing technical design support. In this role, you will also ensure timely project delivery within the ProjectWorks team by completing project drawing packages and takeoffs.

Under the direction of the Technical CAD Supervisor, you will be balancing your focus between working on multiple projects simultaneously and collaborating with Sales and external clients.

What you'll be doing

  • Gaining initial project qualifications, including product specifications, scope, and location of ceiling solutions within the plans
  • Analyzing and reviewing initial design projects within SFDC and within the designs
  • Partnering with Project Managers for all new requests and SFDC efforts
  • Establishing communication plan alongside the Project Managers for processes and deliverables
  • Managing the project flow and document control for all estimates
  • Providing design guidance to sales representatives and customers to ensure the timely completion of projects
  • Maintaining and archiving communications for each project using SFDC and Outlook
  • Preparing final design packages for all ProjectWorks projects
  • Sending all ProjectWorks design packages to Sales for distribution to channel
  • Generating Requests for Information (RFI) and processing change orders and additions
  • Partnering with in-house resources to establish cost and price on custom items
  • Obtaining current pricing from sources to prepare estimates as listed above
  • Inspecting drawings for accuracy and ensuring that customers' needs are met
  • Recognizing issues with customer-submitted drawings and clarifying the requirements before completing new design drawings
  • Communicating frequently with to customers about their orderstatus from receipt to shipment
  • Occasionally travel to sales territory to conduct face-to-face meetings with customers
  • Overseeing the technical planning and execution of ongoing product integration
  • Develop a 'Best Practice Standard Work' to ensure project documentation and process improvement opportunities

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of design experience with AutoCAD 2D, Autodesk REVIT, and Adobe Acrobat
  • A history of demonstrating solid design drafting practices and procedures
  • Capable of developing ceiling and floor plans, including section cuts and elevation views
  • Ability to read architectural drawing ceiling plans and construction documents
  • Expertise in parametric modeling and 3D modeling, including the use of AutoDesk Inventor
  • Knowledge of ceiling solutions including panels and suspension
  • Proficiency with Salesforce (SFDC) or similar CRM applications
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications

Education

  • Associate degree in design, Architecture, or Mechanical field or 2+ years of related design experience in lieu of degree
