Position Details The Psychiatric Technician works with and adheres to the safety and welfare of all consumers with mental and behavioral health diagnoses in their residential programs while carrying out direct care responsibilities. The facility is a small (up to 7 residents), home-like setting in a residential neighborhood. The residents are independent with personal care (staff are not hands-on with showering, etc.) The Psychiatric Technician will: * participate in and follow the treatment planning process. * organize and engage residents in community-based, recovery based and recreational activities (movies, shopping, eating out, parks, etc.) * lead/Co-lead educational and recreational group activities. * coach/model/educate on activities of daily living (cooking, cleaning, hygiene, budgeting, shopping) and communication skills * provide reminders and education about social norms and safety. * provide support/comfort/guidance to residents.
