We are looking for a Laser Automation Technician to join our 100% EMPLOYEE-OWNED team.

First Shift: 6:00am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday

Minimum Job Requirements


  • Physical- Capable of lifting 60 lbs. safely. The capability of standing and bending over for long periods while performing manual labor.
  • Working Hours- Fulltime employment (40hrs/week); including overtime when needed. Available to work on-call for off shifts.
  • Ability to travel and be a good ambassador for the company with customers, teachers, and outside vendors.


Job Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for setting-up, troubleshooting, and operating highly custom automated equipment that entails mainly Lasers Operations, but may include Robotic Brake Presses, Robotic Welders, or CNC Punches. This position is responsible for setting up, troubleshooting, and generating continuous improvement ideas to maximize the quality, output, and efficiency of our manufacturing process. With the help of Engineering, Maintenance, and Leadership this position will help with identifying and resolving complex production issues and improvement opportunities. This position will also be able to help successfully train operators and helpers on how to effectively operate the equipment. This position will also be responsible for preventative maintenance of equipment.



  • Set up and program equipment.
  • Document setup procedures clearly to facilitate future training and standardization.
  • Troubleshoots equipment and repairs promptly to reduce the amount of downtime on machines.
  • Continuously learn new automation machines and processes, including going to machine suppliers for additional training/schooling.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Helps with training production staff, supervisors, and other automation technicians on the use and set up of equipment
  • Work safely and ensure hazardous conditions are eliminated. Follow company safety procedures.
  • Follow all company policies as outline in the handbook and other company documents.
  • Ensure the highest quality standards are met with all the work done.
  • Ensure ISO/AS quality system and safety procedures are followed.
  • Accurately maintain MES system as instructed
  • Maintain neat and clean work area.
  • Other HOC duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • Advance knowledge and programming abilities in at least one of the following machines: Laser Operations, Robotic Brake Presses, Robotic Welder, and CNC Punches.
  • Keeping up on preventative maintenance.
  • Develop and utilize advanced troubleshooting and mechanical skills to support maintenance, fabrication, and welding teams.
  • Work on continuous improvement projects to achieve optimum quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
  • Possesses basic math skills including the ability to read and use a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer to the fraction and decimal.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks and support production needs with limited support.
  • Basic computer and writing skills.


Education and Experience


  • 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing work environment utilizing automation.
