Job Overview:

The Sterile Products Supervisor is a member of the Pharmacy management team and responsible for managing the sterile product compliance for the Pharmacy department.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • PharmD Graduate of college of Pharmacy accredited by ACPE or equivalent
  • Previous pharmacist experience

Preferred:

  • At least one year of supervisory experience

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Current Pharmacist license in NJ

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees compliance with all regulatory requirements required for sterile compounding including USP 797 USP 800 NJ BOP TJC DEA FDA CMS NJDOH and other state or federal regulatory bodies
  • Assists in the development of quality improvement programs staff training and development for sterile and hazardous compounding
  • Manages policies for sterile compounding
  • Frontline resource for all pharmacy staff
  • Assists Director and ADOP in meeting vision and mission of patient safety formulary compliance cost effective practice teamwork productivity and positive outcomes
  • Participates with external departments at local and system level to optimize patient care and best practice
  • Provides cross coverage for other supervisor responsibilities as needed and assigned
  • Provides leadership and direction to pharmacy team members
  • Provides feedback to complete employee evaluations
  • Promotes a positive work environment
  • Plans efficient and effective utilization of resources
  • Assists in planning monitoring and maintaining budget in functional areas of the department
  • Participates in on-call duties if asked
