Responsibilities

Sanitation Supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining a safe environment for employees
  • Supervising shift activities ensuring that the production floor, production equipment and related areas meet USDA, Company and Customer standards of sanitation
  • Assisting in ensuring that food-safe, high quality products are produced that meet or exceed all regulatory and legal requirements
  • Monitoring sanitation processes to ensure a timely completion that allows for an efficient plant start up that meets all food safety and regulatory standards
  • Planning daily employee assignments to ensure effective utilization
  • Performing daily pre-production operation inspections
  • Supervising employees to ensure consistent compliance with company safety practices, company rules, regulations and policies
  • Monitoring training and cross training of all sanitation employees on the 3rd shift to ensure consistency in method and accuracy of data taught to all
  • Assisting as needed in the training process
  • Coordinating resolution of employee issues and grievances
  • Maintaining ongoing communication with manufacturing, food safety management, and USDA to ensure all sanitary and food safety requirements are met
  • Collecting and Collating all data required for sanitation shift operations
  • Investigating and recommending new and improved cleaning methods for materials and equipment
  • Effectively communicating with and listening to employees, acting on employee input, sharing information in an open, timely manner, and encouraging others to do the same; Maintaining appropriate confidentiality
  • Working in a team environment with other managers to improve production efficiency
  • Continually working toward the improvement of products, processes, productivity, and service while engaging in open, two-way communications with fellow employees to help achieve these goals
  • Assisting management in providing a safe and healthy work environment, free of all recognizable hazards
  • Other duties as assigned

Working conditions are hot and wet.

This is a safety sensitive position. This is an on-site position.



Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Sanitation Supervisor position should possess the following:

  • 7 years Sanitation experience is preferred
  • Prior Sanitation and/or Production Supervision Experience is preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor of Science Degree with emphasis in Animal, Meat, and/or Food Science or Business Management is preferred
  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
  • Ability to multi-task and contribute to a team orientated, supportive working environment
  • Solid reasoning and problem-solving abilities
  • High energy level with a strong sense of urgency
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work a non-standard schedule on occasion
  • Basic computer skills - Microsoft Office
